EyeTimer comes with special tamper-evident tape that, when removed, creates a visible mark. Parents tape the TV plug into the EyeTimer Switch (see diagram, right). For added security, we recommend that parents sign their names on the EyeTimer tamper-proof tape. Such a system is nearly 100% tamper proof for even the most mischievous children.

Some parents, for added security or safety reasons, may prefer to contain their EyeTimer Switch units in a lockable enclosure. A simple and effective device can be made in under 10 minutes using ordinary household tools. All components can be purchased at Lowes for approximately $24.00. One EyeTimer Enclosure accommodates one Switch.

Instructions:

STEP 1: Open the Square D Load Center and remove any internal pieces and/or accessories so that it is empty (as shown).
STEP 2: Using snips or a cutting tool, cut U-shaped holes large enough for the AC cords to fit through when the Switch is inserted into the box.  (The U must be open at the top and deep enough to accommodate the cords without pinching when the cover is closed.)
STEP 3: Plug your EyeTimer Switch into the Woods Extension Cord (the black cord shown in photo).
STEP 4: Plug the device's AC plug (TV, video game) into the EyeTimer Switch (white cord shown in photo).
STEP 5: Place the EyeTimer Switch into the Switch Box.  Carefully thread the cords, one each, through the U-shaped holes.
STEP 6: Close the box. After making sure the cords are secure, you may lock the box with a padlock.
